Center for the Future of Teaching and Learning
A California-based nonprofit focused on teaching policy and professional development in California, working to improve education for all students by strengthening the teaching profession. Kristina uses CFTL for regional data collaboratives focused on reducing the number of under-prepared teachers teaching in California schools and for recent legislation focused on improving professional learning in science and math for California teachers and administrators. Institute for the Study of Knowledge Management (ISKME)
An educational think tank that conducts research and offers resources with the goal of helping education institutions increase their capacity to use data and information to improve student and institutional success. Lisa Petrides, president of ISKME, is Kristina's co-collaborator in the development of a knowledge management certificate for K-12 educators. Website

A communications consultancy that helps clients tell their stories through sensitive editing, informed copy-writing and photo documentation, often followed by a publicity campaign to achieve public awareness. Founder Shelly Randall is a former journalist with experience in nonprofit grantwriting and public relations. She works with Kristina to make written reports and communiqués shine. Website

A full-service fund, program and strategic communications development consultancy specializing in capacity building for international and culturally diverse clientele. Services include community assessment, feasibility studies and implementation plans, researching and creating fund development plans, grant writing and scaling up ideas into initiatives. Heliotrope
Kristina co-consults with this Seattle-based consulting firm, founded by Nancy Ashley. Heliotrope works with its clients to develop solutions to child care, out-of-school time care, domestic violence, juvenile justice, youth development, and community development. Skills include strategic planning; facilitation of meetings and events with five to two hundred people; research; writing; process evaluation; data gathering and analysis; project management; grantwriting; gathering community and stakeholder input and information through focus groups and surveys; and system analysis and design. Cohen Research & Evaluation, LLC, based in Seattle, Washington, is owned and managed by Carolyn Cohen. Carolyn has over 20 years of experience in program evaluation, research, and writing. She has developed and pioneered the use of Evaluation Learning Circles as a strategy to coach clients in learning to "think evaluatively," understand evaluation findings, and use evaluation strategies in their own work.
